Nae sure how true this is but supposedly...…………………………..

Strathy v Coldstream- When coming out after half time the Coldstream right back legged it back into the changing room with out warning, clutching his arse. He was subbed. Supposedly he had shat himself and there were no spare shorts so was hooked

That better be exactly what happened

I was at Forres and it was a cracking game with two excellent goals (maybe three but I missed the first goal as I was liberating a delicious sausage roll from the refreshment hut)...

The Lowland League seem to have the upper hand these days...as do the junior sides, a depressing day for the Highland League really

Keith finished in the silver medal position in their tie with the University of Stirling today. We scored once, and they scored one more than that.

No report from ony of the boys who travelled yet. Drunk, probably.

The Qualifying Cup was the route to the Scottish Cup for Highland League clubs until they scrapped it in 2007.

Four semi-finalists went into the first round draw, and then what was invariably the best game of the season, the Q Cup final took place in October. Fans used to attend these finals in huge numbers, and on occasion I’d attend a final even if the Maroons weren’t in it.

Beating Sevcove on penalties in 2003 after coming back from 2-0 down, was among the best experiences I’ve ever had at a fitba match.

Kenny Mackenzie is a folk hero.

Generous of him, especially considering Banff’s only triumphs in the tournament were in 1951 and 50 years later.

He’s right though, it was the best competition ever held in the Highland League. The regional trophies are routine and predictable, as is the League Cup, generally. The Qualifying Cup threw up surprises every season, and some of the finals I witnessed were epic games.
