Unless you are entertaining a coach party, or you are a greedy fat barsteward, then a small one is plenty, using charcoal the traditional way, i can never see the point of cooking on gas outdoors.
Mick, Aussies cook their Kangaroos in an earth pit.

Anyway, we ain't got a barbeque.

OK from time to time. I don’t have any and have not been invited to any this year which doesn’t bother me. It was absolutely heaving in Sainsbury’s over the Bank Holiday with masses of burgers, buns and lager being bought. Having a ‘barbie’ is becoming a bit of an epidemic here. However, it is not the ‘real thing’ which I experienced in Aus. Not a burger or sausage in sight but plenty of steak and very large prawns washed down with a decent different beer. Of course the warmth of the evening and the location helped. Nice.

People these days have little or no respect for their neighbors anyway.

I had a next door neighbour who would reach for his barbie as soon as the temperature was in double figures.

Even on weekdays they’d be out until 12.30am drinking and making a racket with no thought of those close by with kids asleep or who had work the next day.

One persons “good time” is often recipe for a bad night for many people who live close by.....it’s just selfish.

I like living in the country with little or nobody to bother me and vice versa.

If I was in my 20’s again I’d move to Alaska and live off the grid tbh.
