you will see Denmark and France couldn't score and both go through while Peru beat the Aussies 2-0
Joey got 85mins and played well but Iceland lost to Croatia 2-1 whilst the Argies won after a struggle 2-1 against Nigeria to go through with the Croats.
    Drinks on your barman
Pity for Iceland but as long as Joey did not go off injured and is available to report back fully fit for pre season I will be happy.

    .

this farce is about to get serious - you can win the competition but as you don't play every team - then you can't say your the best on the planet....but you will win a cup - and'll stink of champagne.

may the team with the toughest run of it - Win it all....I say !

FIFA warn the deliberate yellows will be penalised as they realise the implications of their rules.
Martinez palying 10 reserve players against us in an attempt to lose ( sorry rest star players) apparently.
I wonder if deliberate own goals will be penalised too?
    Things could get farcical.

Today’s games could see Germany qualify if the beat S Korea can Sweden beat Mexico, goal difference could be crucial.
Looks like Switzerland should get through if they beat Costa Rica whilst a draw sees Brazil through.

    GROUP E
    Serbia 19:00. Brazil
    Switzerland 19:00. Costa Rica

    GROUP F
    South Korea 15:00. Germany
    Mexico 15:00. Sweden

I’m really really disappointed Germany managed to lose 2-0 to S Korea and end up bottom of the table behind them while Sweden won 3-0 taking Mexico with them into the knock out stages. Who would have thought it.

Two good games to watch and SK should have had more. Deutschland unter alles
    Could Brazil go too?

Brazil ease past Serbia 2-0 to win the group.
Swiss can only manage a 2-2 draw with Costa Rica but they go through in second place.

    Now for the big one.

Looking at the different routes to the final that 1st and 2nd place in our group face there is an argument to be made for throwing one in tonight. finish 1st and en route we would face L16 Senegal, Japan or Colombia, Brazil or Mexico in QF then one of France, Argentina, Uruguay or Portugal in SF.
Finish 2nd and it's L16 Japan Colombia or Senegal, QF Sweden or Switzerland SF either Spain, Russia, Croatia or Denmark.
certainly looks an easier route finishing 2nd with only really Spain who should be feared.
Makes for a boring game tonight with neither team really wanting to win. yes it can be said its copping out taking the perceived easy route but if that's what it takes to give us a chance I will take it, how many of us would want Burnley to be given an easier route to the FA cup final If it means we get a chance of winning it.
