Strange response Chris. You stated: "The main reason the kids don't get picked is because our academy is useless. Who from it has made any impact in the Prem from it? Come to that in lower divisions?".

I provide some names off the top of my head to the contrary regarding players from the academy who've made an impact in the lower divisions and you refocus on the Prem'. From the reports I've read Romaine Sawyers and Kemar Roofe are pretty decent in the Championship, a division we currently find ourselves in. Tyler Roberts appears very promising too.

The academy is not useless. It started from a fairly low base but has produced some decent young professionals and continues to do so. Look at the amount of our youngsters representing their countries at various youth levels for evidence of their promise. Some players have been poached before reaching their potential with us. Hopefully we'll see a few make a breakthrough here and on a more consistent basis than Jonathan Leko now we find ourselves in a lower division.

Just watched Burke in semi final against England. He started quite brightly with a few decent runs and hit the post in the first half. After the break, I thought he folded tamely and was eventually substituted.

Watching him is still frustrating because he has an abundance of talent but tends to flit in and out of a game. If he could only show more consistancy, he would be a prize asset this season.

Most things in life are about mentality and focus. A decent player who is totally focused beats a world class player who only focuses some of the time over a season. We cant afford a Ronaldo or a Bale or a Messi. There are lots of players who show glimmers of what could be but their heads tend to be as wobbly as a nodding dog in a car window.

Thought Burke looked totally disinterested in the second half, very disappointing.
