Well they got off the plane and into a taxi for the journey home, and said to my mate

Yes, your right, I lived in Aussie for three years and can't ever remember them being called flip flops. Also remember they had business suits with your regular jacket, shirt and tie etc. and shorts made of the same material as the jacket, long knee length socks and dress shoes
