We amassed 130 mill
Wages were close to 80 mill
Doesn't leave a lot to run a club
And invest
And pay if a debt
Doesn't leave a lot to have a go

I don't get this having a go thing.
What does having a go mean.
Have a go at what and what price are we talking about in having a go.
Plus where does this having a go have us end up?
I'm just curious about what's meant.
For me it's a case of any manager getting funds that the club are capable of absorbing even if things go teets up.
We may as well just call it a day then
A multi billionaire with a club that can't generate enough money
How do other clubs do it????
What the clubs that finished below us
Or those above us with billions of debt
And how much more do you need to have a go to maybe finish two places higher
And risk the clubs existance
It does generate money. I don't get why you think it doesn't.
The issues you are maybe missing is when we end up in the championship after spending a fortune on players and yet keeping many of them on premier league wages.
Added to that, a manager on 5/6 million a season.
Few clubs can carry that.
Take a look at the state of Aston Villa.
We are playing in the most watched league in the world
A bit of investment in the squad say £70m/£80m
Get a bit more interest in the club
Invest some more
Sponsors want part of the club and want to pay to be a part of it
Invest some more
Not spend £50m recoup £80m
We were one of the richest clubs in the world until this regime came in
Didn't get relegated
Tried to win something
And ultimately had half the debt this regime has burdened the club with
Interest free or not
As has already been established, Rafa's on 4 mil a year. Please stop making up numbers, it doesn't look good on you.
Aston Villa is a fair point. So is Sunderland who had an owner who didn't invest enough. In all honesty, the club is in good financial shape and we are in a good position right now to go and spend some decent cash on some good players without that being like risking everything in a game of roulette.
Carr said when he was with us he had strikers such as Lacazette prepared to join us on more than one occasion but Ashley would not sanction a penny over £15 million no matter how good they were.
Buy cheap stack em High sell them on is how he thinks.
