It appears his Hannover team were challenging for promotion straight back to the bundesliga after relegation the season before .
They hit a wobble after the mid winter break and he was sacked , the club however did win promotion back to the German top flight after his dismissal .
They were expected to be strong contenders for promotion following their relegation but the Bundesliga 2 is a very competitive league as you would expect .
So you can see the link with regards to the job here and our expectations .
Whether someone pressed the panic button too early on him and he would have completed the job is something we probably won't know .
Not against a German coach as I've said on another thread but I would have liked one with a bit more experience than 3/4 of a season .
A bigger gamble than it needs to be in my opinion but aren't they all I suppose .
