How do we know that he is not running his eye over half a dozen trialists? Simple because they don't tell us so hopefully the Standard article tomorrow will bring some encouraging news at last!!!

one things for sure ,queens defo need to increase there wage budget ,as everyone else seems to be increasing budget we fall further down the ladder with less and less chance of success ,im sorry but accepting just staying up in this division is unacceptable for me ,we need to be constantly showing steady improvement ,at some point we will eventually get swallowed up with our budget ,the dregs players at the tail end of the transfer window will be really bad one of these years then it will all go tits up crashing to the lower leagues .

the only way we can compete with the other sides in the championship for wages is by the lads on the board digging deep in there own pockets to finance it as the fans aint going to come flooding back until queens show proof of challenging for successes . however ,as people say the transfer window isnt over this season yet ,lets just see what kind of quality our manager can pull out the hat ,im affraid it will have to be a good quality tho as the other teams are strengthening bigtime .

It’s not quite as simple as that Francis. I’m sure the BOD’s have already pumped in thousands of pounds of their own money and we can’t except them to do it again. At the end of the day we need to be realistic here. We can’t compete with most of the other clubs financially and our crowds are nowhere near theirs either. We must as a club live by our means and not get sucked into debt like the days of Davie Rae.
All we can hope for is to do what Livi did last season , they’ve shown us all what’s possible on a tight budget

    Completely agree Basher.

Only a few seasons ago, all the fans on this board were saying, - "thank God the club has been saved, and they were eternally grateful for the BOD for doing so."

Eternal in my book means forever not just 72 or 84 months, so come on Francis, - lets be reasonable here and stop suggesting that pumping money into the wage bills delivers a good team. Livingston proved that hard work delivers results as did Croatia last night against Argentina, - so if we can get a squad of hard grafters who are willing to give 100% we'll do very well, - and if we can stop people moaning from the side-lines, we'd all feel a lot better

100% correct Jardi and not sure where this perception that the BoD have bottomless pockets has come from!!

i understand the concern with uping the budgets to compete but comparing what livi did last season and hoping we can do the same is a dream ,these things livi did are once in a blue moon lol ,i think this is one of the most prominent reasons why queens dont attract extra fans as the general public arnt prepared to pay to watch under the current circumstances ,we have to find a balance where we can recruit competitively with the top sides in the league in the wage department to attract the kind of player needed to drive queens forward ,we are stuck with crowds that are dwindling away and we aint looking like an appetizing alternative for floating fans to go watch queens ,something needs to happen in a positive way somehow .
