so despite being a football fan ,of some sort, you manage to avoid the wall to wall media coverage of England which now extends to the national news and pops up on t'interweb whether one is interested or not ? aye alright of course you do

Interest generally seems to have waned, maybe partly because it is in Russia but probably because there is so much football on TV and the National teams seem less important now.I was going to go if Wales qualified but was not looking forward to the venue.I also entered a World Cup competition recently and was looking for Italy until I realised they hadn't qualified.Seems odd a World Cup without Italy.

It does Barrie, but it'll seem an even odder one if we do well in it.

I wonder which minority they're afraid of upsetting this time ? Imo flying the flag should be compulsory from all Post Office vehicles until we're knocked out. And above every public building.

sinkov --I don't think that the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish consider themselves a minority ---except when it comes to playing at the FIFA World Cup. Perhaps that is the reasoning behind this decision.

Staff branded the decision as "bonkers" but bosses at the company say flags and stickers could blow off and become "hazards" or obscure drivers' vision.

The ban affects all 125,000 Royal Mail delivery staff, based at 1,400 delivery depots across the country. Royal Mail said 25,000 backroom staff not in the public view would be allowed to display flags.
