The USA, Canada & Mexico joint bid to host the 2026 World Cup beats Morocco's proposal by 134 brown envelopes to 65.........sorry, 134 votes to 65

i like that its a joint bid, but nearly all the games, including 1/4, 1/2 and final will be played in the US.
Why not do a US only bid, they are big enough?
With 48 teams now in the comp, they will most likely be joint bids from now on for 2030, Morocco need to team up with a few more north african nations, maybe Tunisia, Algeria, Senegal?
I was surprised when Sky Sports said that England would travel 4000 miles to play their three group games, but that will be nothing compared to the hike from Canada to Mexico.
its proposed to start with 16 teams of 3, so if only two games each in group stage, would make most sense for these to be in the same city/stadium to avoid the long travel for fans. Although not sure how the groups of 3 would work, for the last game when teams, could just play to knock the other team out which has already played their two games.
...you can’t even get in Algeria, never mind play football there...
Personally I think it is an absolute travesty that the nation which gave the world football will not have hosted a world cup in over 60 years
I wonder if Trump will have built his wall by then?
