My little dog Bella, hasn't left my side they sense something is wrong. Shes my best mate.
Operation went well, big thumbs to the surgeon and the nurses. Went in to theatre at 1-15 was back home for 5-30.
Worse part was the injection to numb the pain, hate injection but they was painfull. Watched a lot of the opp, but had a bit of wobble when he got the saw out. The male nurse was great, a wolves, he got me through having a bit of banter about football. They had to take the screws out from my previous surgery and the head broke off one them. so had to use plylers to turn it out, could feel it didn't hurt just numb but you could hear every part of what he was doing.
If i started to feel sorry for myself, i thought of what our James went through and my Dad having to cut his own leg off in the war.
The sugeon showed me my foot before wrapping it up, looks a mess but glad it's gone the grief it has given me.
Had a bad night night lot of pain, but not to bad this morning. Got out off the washing up.
Didn't release how week my left side is, after my strokes and wearing a new brace for many years. Iv'e been puting 75% of my weight on my right leg, the one ive lost my toe. Can't support my weight on my left leg,nearly fell over getting of the operation table to the weal chair the y had to grab me.
Not feeling sorry for myself,compared to our James and WBA53 has gone through it's a walk in the park. THanks for all the good wishes.

Mate of mine had to have his toe removed. After the op the doc said "I have some bad news and some good news for you regarding your toe" Bad news is we've replaced it with a minty sweet.
"What's the good news/" asked my mate.
Doctor "You now have a tic-tac-toe"

Don't laugh too hard for a few days it will hurt.

Having my big toe amputated. Few weeks discomfort and hopefully,one less pain full joint. Should be fit to get up the Brummie rd steps on the ist match.

Thanks for the good wishes. Pain eased off on Monday so stopped the pain killers,big mistake pain come back with a vengence on Tuesday. Back to the hospital tomorrow for a dressing change. My consultant estimated around 4 weeks before i can drive, been having a go on my guitar wah wah pedal to get foot control back.
My wife and the family have been golden. My wife hasn't been driving much since i've retired and is a bit short of confidence and says our car is too big. But i can see she's getting more relaxed.

Take it easy Soulman (and you 53). Don’t run before you can walk, so to speak. It is hardly surprising there is significant pain after what you have both been through. Your wife will be OK. My wife found herself in a similar situation where she had no other option.
