    Townsend

Apparently we're back in with a bid for him. Says he had a great time here, and Rafa seems to really rate him.

The thing about him, though, is that - essentially - he can fuck right off.

I felt like that for a long time but with the absence of signings and if we dont get Kenedy I think I'd take him. He was quality.

I'd want him to show a bit of remorse though and admit publicly that he made a mistake leaving in the first place. Even then it might take a few performances to fully forgive and forget but all footballers look after themselves, its the norm and I'd add that its a two way street with clubs as well - take Jonas. Players who show loyalty are the exception unfortunately.

Whilst i agree on the he can f*ck off, it's also said that Palace want £20 million minimum for him. Whilst he might be worth that in this day and age that will eat up a large, possible 50% of our budget.

I'd rather spend that on a striker personally.

A striker is our absolute number 1 priority. No question for me,

Definitely. We can create chances with the team we have now, but the goalscoring potential would improve dramatically with a quality forward.

Why would we spend £20m for him, but not for kenedy?

Presumably because we think that the money needed for Kenedy might raise about £20 million quickly?

Fair point. What striker could we get for 20 mill that could potentially contribute more than Townsend? Not disagreeing, just interested to hear possible names.
