There is no explaining the reason to her.

My Dad always used to moan about Arthur Bottom who played for York City when they knocked Notts out of the FA Cup.I think in 54/55

In my childlike innocence , I always thought the name was due to a World War 2 injury

As a kid I always thought that injury time was when players could get away with anything they wanted without getting carded.

It’s injury time so lay into them !

Now wouldn’t that be a great addition to the game. Let’s face it - no fan would leave the game early no matter the score.

Has anyone any other misconceptions ? I was about 5 at the time !

I always used to think you needed Irish ancestry to play for the Republic. Turns out a 2 day visit or more does the trick.
