How does VAR actually work? Does the referee have to ask them if he can look at something or do they tell him he ought to look at something.......or both?
It's just that the Tunisia penalty decision and the two assaults on Harry Kane were surely worth a VAR review. If not, what's the point of it?

To be honest i don't really go for conspiracy theories but tonight's performance by the ref and the VAR team was ridiculous.

It's both. the final choice is on the ref.. he also has the choice to ignore the var request.
