    Messi?

having watched last nights Spain /Portugal match.and today’s Argentina/Iceland match,on the international stage ronaldo is a country mile ahead off messi.on that showing he would at best be a decent prem player.proves you need good players around you ,like he as at Barcelona.ronaldo on the other hand, shoot me down if need be.

I've always thought of Messi as being the better team player, but having watched both games, as much as I dislike Ronaldo's arrogance, he was head and shoulders the better player

Messi did more in his match than Tax-evader (if you take away set-pieces and bumbling goalies).

    They are both tax evaders.

    Look it up.

I didn't use to like Ronaldo, mostly because of the winking incident when he helped knock us out of wc 2006 at the qf stage.

I was there that day and it was very disappointing.

But, having seen his documentary and now knowing what motivates him and how dedicated he is, i appreciate his talent more.

I have seen both play live several times and he just shades it over messi imo.

Neither however can lace rondon't boots.

Messi strikes me as a flat track bully. Ronaldo has got it all and he's done it in England.

Ronaldo for me is the greatest of all time, his achievements are simply breathtaking, he has raised the bar to an impossible height.
Some people dislike him for his arrogance and mischief, nothing wrong with that, we all loved Willie Johnston.
He does a lot for charitable causes and always has time for the fans.
He is totally dedicated to the game that has given him so much. Unlike Best and Gascoigne who were washed up drunken bums before they reached 30.

The one thing that lets him down is his constant diving at the slightest touch from an opponent.

Be interesting to see Messi next season without Iniesta putting them on a plate for him.

Ronaldo's diving is annoying Chris, but Europeans have always cheated. Remember our games v Bruges and Bucharest in the 60's?
As for Messi, he's the second best player of all time, the game is light years away from the days of Nat Lofthouse.
