Is it £40m total or £40m + sales

Has it been said what Rafa actually has to spend? If it’s £40m total then getting a RB, CM, winger and striker (and Dubravka) there is no way he will get quality in. It’ll be 4 Joselu’s.

Now if it’s £40m + sales and Sissoko/Wijnaldum instalment money then we’ve a fighting chance.

Going on most past windows it'll be twisted so as to be reduced to the least possible.

    Yup.

If it's the former then we're screwed. As Bob says, we won't get the necessary upgrades for £40 million.

I always thought it was £40 million plus sales. If it's just £40 million total then any big deals such as Kenedy or the striker we desperately need will eat up most of that in one sitting.

Because you can guarantee that £40 million will have to cover the wages for contract as well.

Seems to be the average quoted budget between 40 and 50 million .. including wages .

So we pay £20m for Kenedy and assume wages of £70k a week ( nowt excessive)..on a 3 year deal.. total..£31m.

so the next would be a £10m plus wages and theres your £50m gone .

Another sell off and a couple of loans is gonna be it .

As more time passes I believeit will be less than 40 million with sales included.

Hes a knt, we know this.

We go through this every single summer and its happening again. I refuse to fall into the trap of hoping or thinking we will get anything more.

Rafa will see out his contract because he's a gentleman and a professional. Its also a fair few quid to lose.

Unfortunately I think this will turn out to be spot on.

It must be hard to work under these constraints I think Rafa will keep us up this season though and honour his contract then say thanks but no thanks to Ashley.
