It stays that way!
Tommy Fleetwood posts 63 to go +2 in the clubhouse and is currently second. It’s possible that will win it
Koepka is in the lead after 11 on +1 having just dropped a shot.
It stays that way!
Fleetwood from Southport could and perhaps should have carded a 61.
Great effort though!
They cheat at golf ---players hitting the ball when it is moving because he didn't like where it was going to finish up ----and, apart from penalty shots, he didn't get penalised.
Australians do a bit of tampering with the ball at cricket and get banned for a year whilst a cheating golfer walks away with US$27,952. Nice work if you can get it.
He knew the rules and ignored the spirit of proper protocol of golf.
The USPGA should have disqualified him, but unfortunately did not have the cojones to do it!
So this was against the protocol of golf but isn't cheating, therefore, a player diving at football is against the protocol of football so it should not be considered as cheating or trying to gain an advantage. As a golfer BT. you must agree with that fact ---don't you?
Both actions are pre-meditated and both should be penalised because they are against the Laws of the game, therefore, they are illegal ----people who commit illegal offences are trying to cheat the system.
You can't really defend his actions, can you?
I am not trying to get at you with this, I am a non-golfer and genuinely interested as to why you consider it is not cheating.
As for Phil’s antics, that’s just Phil being Phil. There’s an underlying issue here: It’s no secret he’s not best pleased with USGA course setups. There’s no question in my mind he planned that protest ahead of time. Did he cheat or not………..he went against the rules and was penalized accordingly. Most other players would have been DQ’d for disrespecting the integrity of the game. I memory serves, Tiger was under threat of disqualification at The Masters a few years ago, he wasn’t dq’d either. Both Phil and Tiger hold a lot of power in today’s game, be that right or wrong, it’s the way it is!
