Well seeing as the premiership clubs have the monopoly on youth and only a very small percentage actually get any sort of 1st team action, there has to be some kind of justification to their existence so some bright spark decided to reinvent this competition. The England national team will no doubt go from strength to strength off the back of this imaginative move.
Pathetic pointless competiton to be honest, which was only ever meant to be for Associate members of the old FL, and we played in the Full Members cup of course. then they scrapped it for the ghastly Anglo-Italian flopcup.
The only good thing about the Johnstone's Paint Cup/Trophy was that it was a normal straight knock out cup, so why did they have to mess about and invite these Prem U21 teams in it ?.
Hasn't it gone back to a straight knock-out?
Ignore last post farcical competition. Hope we're allowed to play our reserves in it.
