Against a poor team admittedly, but lets still stick with the positives and enjoy it eh. We've smacked them and totally deserve the two wins, come on Engerland.

I thought the second half was disappointing. Surely they knew the goal-difference situation! Without Panama's goal, or with one extra for us, a draw with Belgium would see us top the group!
For the Panama goal, all the players on the near side stepped up, but the ones on the far side didn't! Very poor communication. A lot of sloppy passing too. I know it was hot and it's hard to keep the adrenaline going when you're so far ahead, but I still think we should have tried harder to rub the superiority in.
Seems odd to moan after a five-goal victory, but we will have to be much sharper and more alert against Belgium. I hope Trippier is not out for that game.

Panama where just a non league side. That's the trouble with this WC. You have about 5 decent enough sides, the rest should not be there.
It was actually quite poor, we still haven't been given a real test, and when we do, we will come untstuck.
Even an XI picked from Div1 and 2 players would've qualified out of this group. What a decent nation would do, is work out the easiest route. For us, winning the group means we avoid Brazil in the quarters (who will get stronger) and play an out of sorts Germany instead. And we would likely play Senegal or Japan in the next round, and avoid the dangerous Columbians.

I will get really excited and start to believe once we play someone approaching half decent. I just fear we will be out once that happens.

I said exactly the same on another board Aucks, that it was annoying for us to concede like that when we were coasting at 6-0. That goal conceded might mean we miss out on winning the group now.

Young England quarter finalists. Whatever happens now, I do believe Southgates boys have done us proud.

Yes Aucks I agree, that we have exceeded all expectations when it comes to this already impressive WC tournament.

    We're like twins, Saxo!

Shock, horror news...an England team holds its nerve in a penalty shoot-out.
To be honest, I don't think Colombia deserved to win (any more than Russia did). In fact, I'm not sure how Colombia finished with eleven.
More strange refereeing, but the oddest decision so far was giving only a yellow card to the Danish player who brought the Croatian down before Modric missed the penalty. What if Denmark had gone on to win? How could that possibly be fair?

I'd have been quite disappointed had they failed to beat Panama. They are a non league side. We should be a team like that 100 times out of a hundred. And a woeful Tunisia.
We didn't beat a poor Columbia side in 120 minutes, despite having all the possession. And they were missing their one match winner. But I am glad we finally managed to win on pens. We won't have an easier run to a semi final in our entire lives. Sweden are average. And on a par with England. Should be a tight game.
Are we really getting excited about beating 2 non league sides and making very hard work of Columbia? As in, your almost talking they will return heroes?
