It was a strange attempt at saving as he dived behind the line and then tried to challenge the goal line technology.

Other than that though he did well. Good win for Japan

What's concerning me so far is that a. England weren't bad (albeit against poor opponents) in the first half on Monday and created a shedload of chances whilst b. The teams we rely on have been crap so far - Spain were bloody awful last night.

I think the draw could open up for England. Group H has no big teams and could be Japan or Senegal in 2nd round.

After Germany lost the other day it could be that England end up with possible quarter v Serbia/ Mexico.

Best chance they’ll have for a while to do something.

Semis and final will always be tough through. Who knows if they have been practicing penalties!!

Haha! Well their manager knows a thing or two about penalties, hopefully he's been passing on his wisdom!

England officially have the worst record of penalty shoot outs at the World Cup finals. Lost 3 out of 3.

It's very open and they can win it, very easy group they got and also the way the fixtures fell means the Belgium fixture could be meaningless, next round is weak too, jammy gits

Not that big a surprise, they were close to not qualifying, terrible in both games, manager not the best, not a happy camp

    Croatia a solid side though

Agree Shedka - they aint out yet but with that manager and system they wont win anything.

It has reminded me of our last 3 or 4 seasons ........

Kroos rescues Germany when 20 seconds from effectively going out. Jeezo.
