    Wilshere

Right, I know a lot on here don't like him/wouldn't want to see him in a Toon shirt, but I rate him and think he could be class next to Shelvey. He's got a bad injury record, but is still only 26 (!) and as he's available for free now, I'd sign him up.

It's never going to happen of course, we wouldn't pay him his required wages and sign on fee. But it'd show a bit of ambition IMO.

That it would, i don't like him but when fit he is decent and would do well but he's hardly ever fit and that is a big issue.

Aye he's wages will be through the roof and his sign on fee, really not sure where i can see him ending up.

I would love him at the Toon, but he will end up at Wet Spam or Fulham

Yup-agree with both of you. I think he would be a great signing but if his fitness wasn't an issue he'd be looking at bigger clubs than us.

And by that, I mean clubs with bigger ambition because we have none.

And aye, his wages would be prohibitive.

Wilshere will be looking for one more big pay day. His injury record is dodgy, to say the least.
I don't think he'll stay in London, I think this lad could be on his way to America or even China for his monetary feast before he hangs his boots up early and lives the high life until he self destructs.

    Maybe I'm going a bit too far....or am I?

Anyway, would I have him at Newcastle?
If I owned the club or managed it....then absolutely not.
But seeing as I'm not in control of those matters, but am a Newcastle United fan and supporter, then I have to support whoever comes into the club, whether it's a Messi, Neymar or Ronaldo, or a Wilshere, Deeney or Townsend.

There's no doubting the lads talent and on his game he's quality and a definite massive asset. It's just a shame it's on the toss of a coin.

The fact he couldnt command a game in a poor arsenal side says it allfor me

    to many injuries
looked good when he went out on loan i think (if im thinking of the right player)
he was willing to take a pay cut at arsenal to get game time

    80 k a week and a signing on fee

    not for me

He finally seemed fully fit last season, if he can stay like that he would be a great signing but of course we only shop at oxfam these days

Not for me for the following reasons:
    1) He would see us as a step down.
    2) He was poor at Bournemouth. No goals and 2 assists in 22 games. If he was such hot chocolate why didn't they snap him up?
    3) His style of inviting challenges lends to injury.
    4) He is not durable and is an injury waiting to happen. See reason 3.
    5) He waddles around midfield like a duck.
    6) Too expensive
    7) HIs limited talent was hyped up to the max playing for a Landan club.
    8) Comes accross as an arrogant wingnut. Only my impression of course and I could be totally wrong about that.
    9) Even at his best he didn't produce a lot of goals or assists. Look at his record.
    10) I think we have other priorities and I dont think he's our no 10 answer. I'd prefer someone who is more of a proven assister/goalscorer, is guaranteed to play more games. Someone out of favour at his club - Lallana for example.
