Thread: Ascot

    Ascot

Just off down the local for breakfast and a couple of pints before on the train to Ascot. I can pick a day out but I can't pick a horse. Only once in many attempts have ever come back winning.

A nice football related tip in the first race is Come On Leicester. Might be worth a few bob each way. Have a good day.

    Have a great day 923...

I like to back horses and the one horse I am on today at Ascot is Seniority in the 5-o-clock. most bookies giving 5 places some giving 6 or 7, and at 10/1 is still backable each way for a quarter the odds. It's the only handicap race on the card today and mainly I only back handicap races. I took a bigger 14/1 yesterday.

Good luck 923 be a bookie basher today....

I guess I’ll be in the minority but horse racing leaves me cold.

I’m sure it’s the social side that attracts a lot of people.

    Getting p I s s e d and having a scrap is a British institution now.

Getting pissed and fighting has been an institution since alcohol was first fermented......I'm sure the Bayeaux tapestry depicts the Brits swigging from jars of mead before Harold lost his eye (and kingdom!). I agree it's been perfected since then (more the booze than the fighting) but we Brits don't need an excuse to get bladdered after which it all kicks off!

How did you get on 923...made a few shekels I hope.

Hope you didn't do mine, fairly close up but finished 4.5 lengths behind the winner and out of the placings, so like the baggies well and truly down the pan.

    Always next year 923.

Hopefully didn't back mine either 923. Won her race on the side side but only 6th overall. Used to go to Ascot every year when I was last back in UK but probably still preferred Goodwood. Hope you had a great day and took some money out of those satchels.
