    Big Al suggests...

...allowing a player with a head injury to go off to be assessed and replaced by a sub for the time it takes. Happens in rugby and seems fair enough to me?

    Any obvious flaws?

Probably a few niggling flaws in terms of feigning a head injury to gain a team some injected pace for a short while..especially in the latter part of games.
However, I think it's so minor as to be a nothing thing, so, why not try it.

Good point - maybe the doctors/medical staff looking at the player should be neutral so it doesn't become a tactical ploy? That way they could quickly assess whether or not the player needs treatment, and either send him back on or make the substitution permanent.

Can’t see neutral doctors attending every game we can’t even get enough to staff the NHS

Suspect the FA would pay a decent wack though and plenty of private doctors who don't do work for NHS.

Al said have independent docs rather than team ones to judge as well.

So independent head specialist doctors to attend every match in the country it’s a good idea but can’t see it happening.

Aye, i suppose every game might not work.

Might do it in the prem?

Separate authority to the football league?

I think the PFA would be all over that one like a rash Jammy giving preferential treatment to Premiership Players regarding health and safety issues mate

Again, didn't think of that either.

Hmm, i think it will happen eventually but certainly some kinks to be worked out if it needs to be an independent doc.
