Senegal can consider themselves more than extremely unlucky by the nature of their exit and England were simply too "Meh!" on the day to use the same route to top their group. The latter may prove to be a tactical masterstroke, although one goal losses are rarely a good long term plan. Unless, of course, you're in the PL and your set of 1-0 daily predictions all happened to point in the right directions: CalverleyBoy (EEOE) and Ralgex Rovers (EEOE) both grabbed a "well massive, innit?" twenty-one points out of the available twenty-four. Maybe a Leeds fan will win this competition after all? Or, as of now, after Alf?

Yeboah suffered a nil points day at the PL office, but all four of their predictions could easily have happened. Especially if the scorelines had been different.

    The Results:

    Group H : Japan v Poland 0-1
    Group H : Senegal v Colombia 0-1
    Group F : Panama v Tunisia 1-2
    Group F : England v Belgium 0-1

    Scoring:

    Three points for correct outcome
Additional three points for correct scoreline (i.e. requires correct outcome)

For knock-out stages only: three points for prediction of progressing team - need not match "regulation" outcome

    Good luck.

He's a mate of mine who used to sit next to me when I was in the East stand just after it was built. I'm in a fantasy football league he runs (which he won - it definitely helped that he had Mo Salah - and I somehow managed to get relegated, basically because my team was formed by sealed bids and then scraps rather than attending the pre-season auction).

All of his group stage predictions were done before the first game, with 1-0 predictions for all of them!

He lives reasonably close to you too - somewhere in Bracknell - you could copy him!

    1 - 0 equals no points the scores were 0 - 1 LOL - I did consider going 1 - 0 for all away teams :-)

By the way I don't live near Bracknell a bit nearer to gods country than that - North of Preston

21 points eh Calvo, who did you bribe to get that many points ?.
Im not good at predicting to be honest and I was surprised to be top for as long as I was!!. lol
Those early group games were a lot more easy to predict than these recent ones have been.

I thought you lived somewhere near Reading - must have you mixed up with someone else.

He's gone all 1-0 (and 0-1, obviously) for the last six**** too.

A sort of modified semi-Nasty strategy?!

I made my prediction back in May and have no clue what so ever - not having Italy and USA in the mix is still confusing to a geriatric; I guess it's good to let others have a chance - I seem to recall Israel being in the 1970's cup.

I worked in London for seven years and lived there mid week - your mate can't have 1 - 0 both ways, can he?
