Overrated films

Goodfellas for me too. Got that rammed down my throat, being forced to laugh at the “funny” scene with Joe Pesci etc. Both Pesci and Liottta are annoying in it in the same way they usually are.


Haven’t seen Amelie but imagine that would be pretty pish compared to the hype.

Whether hes seen it or not, hes made a jolly good call there... because I have seen it and I agree, Goodfellas is extremely over rated.

Soz Trouty, have I made another balls up there lol, believe me it wouldn't be the first time.
Along the same lines anyway, do you or anybody else on here like the film Casino, which also stars De Niro & Pesci in the same sort of roles.

I did at the time. I suppose that is why I'm less big on goodfellas than I used to be in that it was copied a few times usually with pesci playing similar roles and as a result it lost its in your face originality. still a decent watch though.

Ok spolier alert lads... isn't that a truly shocking ending for Pesci's character in Casino. As annoying as he was, he didn't deserve that!!.
It annoys me that he typecast himself as well in the Lethal weapon films, each film saw Pesci get a little bit more annoying each time. In fact the only film Ive liked him in was My cousin Vinny.
Hey Ive got an idea, why doesn't somebody on here create an over rated and/or under rated thread about actors as well ?.

Well De Niro slowly became a caricature of himself and was in some awful films. Al Pacino was even more guilty of that.
