Desperate Irish, we must have had 75% possession but it means nowt without a goal, he should be off no doubt.

Absolutely correct, either it wasn't deliberate so no card, or it was deliberate (which it clearly was) and a red card.

Not sure if the ref is to blame, but yet again VAR comes up with a wrong decision. Total farce.

HALF-TIME. Just have a feeling that one way or another, win or lose, Sterling will be a key player tonight.

Hope that bad VAR decision doesn't come back and haunt us. This game could get nasty.

Defences well on top. If England edge it, it's going to be something like Lingard with a late run. They're missing James.

After seeing it in close up in the half time replays, the ref is blameless because he wasn't looking in the direction of the offence. He can't be expected to see everything, which I understood is why VAR came into operation. The VAR ref has a pretty straightforward decision to make. Either the head butt wasn't deliberate where he advises the ref to take no further action, or it was deliberate where he advise the ref to issue a red card under the 'violent conduct' law. When the VAR ref has the benefit of slow motion replays, how the f*ck did he decide that was only a yellow card offence?

England have created very little, but we should be playing the second half against ten men. Echoes of Coventry anyone?
