Much of what I hate and what I think is killing the joy of the game was displayed last night. From the start it was clear the type of game Columbia were going to play and I had expected something like that. Yet again it was the antics at corner kicks that really got to me. So when the penalty was given I thought that might ‘send a message’. Silly boy. It only led to an escalation of the cheating, aggression, nastiness and violence. Columbia were appalling. A disgrace to football, their country and themselves. I am so pleased we won even if just to spite the most awful team I have witnessed on a football pitch.

Q165, you have summed it up perfectly. Columbia were an utter disgrace. No matter what the result is against Sweden I'm sure that they won't act in the same appalling manner.

Can you imagine what it must be like for the Colombian spectators watching their local football teams play each other on a Saturday? The game would just consist of rolling around, gouging, swearing, screaming and there may just be the odd kick of the ball.

    Spot on Q.

Absolutely vile lot, no different to Panama, albeit with slightly more gifted players, I despair at the state of the game. A lot of theses South Americans have it in them though, some more than others, you can go back to the disgraceful Rattin for Argentina in 66', some of the Uraguian sides since, yet the Brazilians attitude seems to be ok for the most part.

They just don’t know any better,it’s the way they are dragged up by their drug riddled whore s l u t mothers.

    Utter and complete scum.

Expect more of the same from Uruguay if things start going against them.

Apart from the playacting as soon as they are touched, especially Neymar, I thought he'd broken his leg in three places again Mexico

I see the Colombian Manager is mouthing off again blaming England for too many fouls, play acting, diving etc. You couldn’t make it up. Glad to see the back of them.

I have to confess to not watching hardly any Brazil games so far this tournament. I'm basing it on their average over the years.
