Good signing if he avoids injury. I think he only made 97 starts for the scum in five seasons there, not sure how much of that was down to injury or not being selected. He does seem to fill the gap alongside Hewitt in centre midfield.

Quality signing if he stays fit. Total waste of presumably high wages if/when he gets injured by a standard L2 juggernaut defender.

Strikers have a far shorter shelf life than midfielders. Masson played for us in the top flight at the same age.
