Seems to be the fashionable thing to say.

I think there's a lot more to it than football.

A lack of a real Scottish identity ( no they daft ****ers that follow the national team), the independence referendum, more people in scotland would know the name of England's 5th choice left back than Aberdeen or hearts centre forward.

Religeon a big thing as well....ie generally rangers generally pro English, tic anti.

Never see anything wrong with a healthy dislike of sporting rivals but seems to be politically incorrect to say it. Would it change my life England winning wc, probably not, would it be irritating, yep.

Do I want them to win....no.

Mibbe even a generational thing I cheered Germans last minute winner against Sweden (mainly because I had a bet on but also a screamer) and I got called a traitor and the auld guy wasnae joking.

Considering he wud have to have been 90 to have been involved ( he wisnae) in the war I thought it was a bit ott but we ahh have oor grudges.

I ****ing hate Wayne mardle but that's a different topic.
