We've had the debate, but I'm interested in breaking it down
Does increasing corporate tax levels make the UK more or less attractive to businesses to operate, create jobs and pay taxes? It's a simple question and you mentioned earlier that you could back The Great Leader's and your position up so over to you.. yes or no?
As for fire, you and your fan club are as bad as him
Break it down? Again? Just like 6 odd months ago when we spent days challenging each other over this very same subject? I pulled up evidence to back my views, you did exactly the same etc etc. I found the debate reasonably interesting, I've been very open in saying that you are one of the few people with more pro-conservative views (I know you'll always deny association with any political party as it cheapens you somewhat to be so simplistic, but forgive my distillation) on the forum that does back up their views with coherent arguments (although MMM does stump you quite regularly to the point of ignoring his questions which sadly let's your standards down. Same again tonight I notice!).
But unless you were drunk through the whole debate on corporation tax we had previously (come to think of it, you do post on here very late!) I don't see what on earth we would both get from breaking down and repeating exactly the same argument? The very fact that you seem to want to sounds a bit strange, almost needy and quite insecure.
Quite happy to contribute and discuss new issues or new light on old ones but let's not rake over old ground eh? Or you might even venture an opinion on our favourite football team at some point?
A lot of words there raging. A simple yes or no to the question would have saved you a lot if time.
Is there a reason why you won't answer other than the reality of the consequences of increased corporate taxation is a bit inconvenient for you?
Humour me. Would increasing the level of corporate taxation make the UK a more or less attractive place to do business in, pay taxes in and employ people in? Yes or no?.
.
Yes what? Yes it would make the UK a less attractive place to do business, pay taxes and employ people in?
So, breaking it down a little further, how many job losses are acceptable to you for, say the tuition fee bribe to the middle class electorate? A couple of hundred thousand? Half a million?
I hope you have a lovely day too. I'm in Strasbourg curiously enough, but for pleasure rather than business.
