Hmmm, a question from Scoop's Webchat would suggest as mucho.

Declan: Is it true we're in for Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain?
Hi Declan, I know he is a player the club have constantly monitored following the game against Oxford City last year in which he had a very good game. He is somebody they like for sure.

Can he cover one or both full-back positions?

Right-sided midfielder or defender I've heard. Be a good signing

Is he under contract at Pompey?

If he's coming will it be a loan signing?

Out of contract i believe, he broke his leg not long ago. Would be a permanent signing I'd say.

Hardy liked a tweet on Twitter saying any truth in this rumour so looks like it's the case

Hopefully if we do sign him he isn't just a midfielder and could cover all the defensive positions. If the squad does have a weakness I'd say it's in defence rather than than midfield or forward options.

Christian Benjamin Oxlade-Chamberlain (born 24 June 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Portsmouth.

Do we need another Midfielder. No. We have enough bench warmers as it is without adding to them..What we do need is a ball playing central defender who can play a decent ball out of defence without resorting to a big boot

And how many of that type do you get in League 2?

Look up the word 'Realism' in the dictionary durham. It might fill your empty glass a bit.

I think we have a ball playing centre half in Ben Hall.
Also, factor in the players signed, it seems stacked full of players comfortable with the ball to feet, which was not always the case last season.

He can play midfield but I believe he played mainly at RB for Oxford City and he definately did against us in the cup.

It looks like this lad is signing rumour is he has been training with us for a week.
