Davies, yes bothered because I think he had the will of the people in his mind at all times

Boris, no not bothered and hopefully this will help restore his Have I Got News For You gig, his buffoonery suited that perfectly
Bothered about Davis? Who hasn't played any meaningful part in negotiations despite supposedly being Brexit secretary? It wuld be hard to find a more talent less, clueless buffoon but for for Johnson.

Exactly how is 52% of those who voted "The will of the people" thats a meaningless phrase thats tossed around as a huge majority of the British people voted for Brexit, when in reality 37% of the voting population did - not disputing the result of the referendum, but lets be clear if one says respect the result (of a flawed and it seems illegally funded) referendum thats a fact, "the will of the people" is in correct, one would have to have a plus 60% voting majority for it to be even close to that.

Not a chance, even the Tories recognise him for the egotistical self interested chnacer that he is, would not even get to second vote, not that will happen as any leadership contest would fracture the party, and anyone with the qualities to run, would keep thier heads down until the chaos had settled.

Yeah...cos it was so successful and really benefitted the country last time didn’t it?

What’s up...are his LBC and EU salaries not enough to keep him in the manner to which he has become accustomed...at the country’s expense?

All this Country will be doomed crap by the the remainers is wearing a bit thin, why won't remainers just let it drop, if the vote had been won by the remainers there wouldn't be all of this dummy throwing by us wanting to leave.
If people couldn't be arsed to get off their sofa to vote tough! it's no ones fault but theirs.

The ones that bothered to vote are the ones that count and the majority of the ones that voted wanted out, so there you have it out won, that's the end of it as that was the result of the vote that everyone was entitled ..

The remainers just go on and on to try and justify with their superior knowledge it was the wrong decision, but it wasn't the wrong decision at all, everyone was given the chance to vote and the majority of the ones that did thought it was the right decision to leave.

99%of the remainers keep trying to justify leaving is wrong, I know losing hurts, like the footy last night but sometimes you have to take defeat with a bit of dignity and realise someone has to win and someone has to lose. We were the winners! Sorry but that was the result.
This black propaganda by the remainers needs to stop and stop now so we can move on to better pastures!

Seems unlikely the Remainers are going to let anything drop now MoP and it’s nothing to do with ‘dummy throwing’ or that ‘losing hurts’.

The only ones currently losing the argument, as more and more leading business people come out against Brexit, are the Brexiteers and in any case I have no problem with losing...been supporting England and Derby for too long for that.

This though isn’t a case of taking it on the chin and moving on...it’s much more important than that.
You want to Leave, I want to Remain and for the most part over the two years that this thread has been running our exchanges have been cordial and civilised.

Even you though must surely now recognise the following.

    1) The Referendum has done this country nothing but harm for the last two years with all other things political and business being put into some sort of limbo.

    2) The politicians most in favour of Brexit...Farage - and his two monumentally stupid successors - Johnson, Gove, Rees-Mogg, Fox, Smith etc have presented themselves as the most mealy mouthed bunch of self seeking back stabbers in a ‘profession’ already renowned for such ‘qualities’.

    3) Even before the result, starting if you like from the murder of Jo Cox, which would have been called a ‘terrorist attack’ in other circumstances, the whole process seems to have somehow ‘empowered’ the bigoted aspect of the far right making this a far less morally ‘healthy’ country to live in.

    4) At the time of the Referendum the vast majority of people had little idea of all the complexities involved in what they were voting for and against. They were lied to and deliberately misled over an issue which was already far too complex for most to be able to verbalise a valid opinion about. Under such circumstances...why should we persist in following a result which has long been accepted as never being anything other than advisory.

    5) If we must have a Referendum...to decide the ‘will of the people’...let’s make sure it’s done properly. Let’s make sure that all those entitled to vote can do so, recognise the importance to our country’s - not the Tory party’s - future and let’s say it has to be decided, one way or the other, by a true majority i.e. over 50% of those entitled to vote.

If that were to happen and ‘Leave’ were to win, then I, for one, would still consider it to be a mistake but I would accept defeat and stop being ‘obstructive’. I very much doubt though that you or any of the Brexiteers will accept such terms, even though the last two years have arguably and ironically led to us having a more informed electorate, because you know very well that the genuine ‘will of the people’ might well be in favour of change but not complete abandonment of EU membership.

RA - do you not think that the success of the Brexit leave vote was directly influential in the success of the England squad and Gareth Southgate? The sense of public support for our country (reflecting the leave vote) has been directly influential in the level of support for England against its European foes which in turn has helped drive on our heroic team to greater success than we would otherwise have expected. Johnny foreigner now fears the English team, and in no small measure due to the decision to leave.

Furthermore the Brexit vote has encouraged Southgate to express his personal fashion taste in wearing a very British waistcoat, rather than a typically modern European conventional style, which adheres to the Rococo or Neoclassical periods’ keynotes. Again his confidence in directing our team must stem from his style of dress, which is a direct result of the Brexit backlash against European understated elegance. QED

So, in summary, it is clear that the pro Brexit vote is directly responsible for England's success in Russia, and it is very wrong of you not to reflect on this when determining the validity of the voting outcome. Its easy to criticise the vote by questioning the validity of the economic forecasts that have emerged post referendum, but we are dealing in hard facts here, England have succeeded in reaching a semi final (and leading that game at half time in that game), something we have never achieved whilst in the EU.

Of course you make an excellent point Parky and I am indeed guilty of overlooking the fact that Sir Gareth’s ‘vest’ - sorry been here too long - represents a new fashion breakthrough entirely attributable to the patriotic spirit of Brexit which indeed transcends the validity of any economic forecasts.

Unfortunately those who see our great WC achievement as confirmation of the wisdom of Brexit appear to be equally culpable of overlooking the success of those European near neighbours...Belgium and France who remain committed EU members.
