From what i've been seeing it's agent talk.

It wouldn't surprise me if it is to try and flush out some big bids but i don't think anything has happened as of yet.

He would be the one player we can't afford to lose though, not at any price. Mainly cos it wouldn't be reinvested.

his agent wont be talking without lascelles consent

    thats for sure

if his player was settled and wanted to stay
he would be banging down rafas door asking for an extended contract and better pay

for no other reason than when we needed or wanted to sell we would get a better price

i would say after not getting in the england squad

he has realised he needs to be at a bigger club

Maybe just at a club with an owner that has some ambition eh?

Lets not have a pop at the club we love eh?

I'd say that agents talk all the time without consent, gives the player plausible deniability in regards loyalty payments.

He did sign a new contract last season in October till 2023.

That is why we can laugh this £25 million bid away.

I'd say yes he'll be down at not getting in but it wouldn't make a difference going to West Ham. It would need to be a bigger club than them.

So really - your argument doesn't hold up that much.

Was reported as a £20m bid rising to £25m at 1145 today on skysportsnews .
read somewhere we want £45m minimum.

Wet spam won't bid £45m nor will anyone else .

And, realistically, he's not worth that to other clubs at the minute. He had a very good season in the Prem (as well a good one in the Chimpo) but his worth to us is based on more than just his ability and potential-it's about his leadership and the bond he has with us as fans. To us, he's worth more than clubs will be willing to pay. What's worrying is that Fatso doesn't care about that.

Totally agree... Even if someone paid the £45m .. About £5m may trickle down to the transfer kitty . We would never replace him .

This answers the question best, I think.
