Still a good gesture .
Should England reach the final the Aldi and Lidl supermarkets will close one hour early so their staff can get home to watch the match.
Both Aldi and Lidl are German owned.
Still a good gesture .
It's because they know the shops will be empty,so they send the staff home so they don't after pay them for doing nothing.
Or the fact 99% of the staff may be English and wouldn't mind watching the game.
Good on both employers to offer this to the staff.
I should imagine any sensible English folk would have got their beers, burgers and whatever in early doors in readiness for the match
and screw shopping.
I was really looking forward to browsing Lidl DIY section with the wife. Now I'll have to watch the match.
if they are sent home by the company they will still get there wages paid.
just a good gesture.
at my partner's work if england win the world cup they have Monday off paid.
weatherspoons are also closing 60 pubs at 5.30 to allow their staff to watch the game
