Do certain Cities and Towns effect transfers?

When several different clubs are linked with a potential transfer target, is their location in the United Kingdom a deciding factor in the players decision? If this is the case, it certainly appears to be with one transfer today. The London clubs would appear to be at a great advantage over the rest of the Country.

It would look as if the bright lights of the Capital City are a major attraction to players arriving from abroad. Players are often accused of greed when it comes to income, and will sell themselves to the highest offer in respect of money. However, big London clubs do seem to have an edge when players are deciding where they want to settle.

Wolverhampton, Huddersfield, Burnley, West Bromwich and Stoke are always going to be at a disadvantage when decision time arrives. We have done well to attract and keep the likes of Neves and Costa, but I wonder if we would have attracted them without the Nuno/ Mendes connection?

It is good in a way that clubs like Man City, Liverpool and United, have the financial clout and history to still attract top contenders. Let us just hope that we can compete, hold our own, and eventually attract some of the good top names, while still developing our own youngsters.

I'm not a University graduate, nor are my Children, but I think you could almost draw a parallel with the "status" of Universities. Oxbridge ....
