The best players go where the best money is, out of England’s squad for the W/C I think about 90% played in the 2nd tier at one point in their youth and latterly more will do likewise as they age, admittedly these chaps only playing in a play off tomz are not the best, however the EFL is a c@nt of a league to get out of and it is head and shoulders above many other leagues.

So you can’t actually name any of these world stars who have played in signed for teams in the championship. Surprised you haven’t told us that you’ve placed a bet on some world star signing for one of the clubs

Can’t be @rsed wee pup, however, if you can be you will see a fair % of England’s squad did actually play in the piss poor EFL......regarding betting, nothing major for the next week or two, you stick in though and hopefully beat the big bad bookies!

The problem of Scotland producing players isn’t a new one. There are many reasons. Why do nations such as Croatia, Belgium, Switzerland and Denmark keep producing decent players yet we don’t? We have decent enough youth players but the conversion rate is poor. Scotland’s drinking culture must be a factor. Is it a co-incidence that Scotland’s two most decorated sportsmen of the last twenty years, Andy Murray and Darren Fletcher, are teetotal? Playing abroad would certainly help our young players. What’s the latest with Ryan Gauld?

You can almost pinpoint it to the day, when Scottish football went downhill. It’s when a group of well connected school teachers thought they were best placed to coach the professional game.

There’s all the usual barriers & distractions for youth players but being taught by angry dads, before being passed on to coaches that prefer attitude over ability can’t help.

Coach them better & you’ll get better players
