No doubt the outcome will be amazing and tremendous.
It will be higher than amazing and tremendous. Is it OK to say that?

1959_60 --no need to apologise. It was a strange thing because there were quite a number of veterans around at the time and when this 'lady' started spitting at the Union Jack one or two wanted to do something about it, however, they would not harm a woman. On complaining to the police it was the veterans who were accused of stirring things up when all they had been doing was laying a wreath at the Memorial and paying respects to fallen comrades. Unfortunately, you could sense that things were boiling just under the surface and the confrontation with the police happened out of nothing. In fairness to the police they were correct in discouragting the flag bearers from going down into the melee which was definitely filled with a lot of Corbynistas and 'heavies' It is quite strange to witness how, what use to be a celebration of the miners and their support for the Labour Party and Trade Unions has changed into something totally different but is still masquerading as what it used to be.

Seriously Supersub? I have not looked at this debate but if I had been there the woman would have had a definite smack in the gob!

Our war dead are sacrosanct in my eyes but why do you say Corbynistas and "heavies" were involved? I have never, ever one time in my lifetime met a Labour Party member who would disrespect our fallen. Never.

In fairness BT, the main lot were not disrespecting the fallen, they just had the presence on the main march and down where the speeches were taking place.

Anyway here is another take as reported just now in the Northern Echo. although this does differ slightly from what I witnessed, although I do not know anything about the so-called right wing organisation mentioned.
Who knows what goes on these days?

The crowd applauded him warmly and chanted: "Oh, Jeremy Corbyn."

    How nice!
Yes how nice. Dear dear Jeremy thinks Islam is a wonderful religion of peace and Venezuela is a socialist paradise so why doesn’t he convert to Islam and piss off to Venezuela.

No- nothing like them at all ---in fact they all looked respectable and there were a number of veterans (Ex-DLI) in attendance with them, in fact I as surprised with the report in the Northern Echo, although as I said previously, the local press have only today published this report which is very much on the side of the organisers and the national press don't seem to have covered it at all.

    does differ slightly, aye.

then again it's got no far-right axe to grind.

It's not uncommon these days supersub, for the hard left to use violence and intimidation to close down debates or meetings. For whatever reason the police rarely take the side of the law abiding citizens, or make any attempt to uphold their rights. And just as you experienced, it won't get reported by the BBC or Guardian either.
