But I'm hoping Southgate picks a strong team and Kane can maybe bag a goal or two to make sure he brings the golden boot home as well as the wooden spoon.

It's all part of the overall brainwashing, to lose is ok we're told from the day we are born. Schools for example where they have sportsdays that have no winners or losers.
