The 2 aren’t even close. Deschamps has had an answer tactically for every team France have faced. Belgium accused them of anti football after the Semi..if Southgate was anything like Descamps..Croatia would be singing the same tune..especially going 1 up so early.

Besides the man who’s mainly responsible for France’s achievements in the last 20 years is Gerard Houllier and he hardly gets a mention.

It's just that you didn't say anything like you're saying now with the benefit of hindsight. We can all be wise after the event.

Fair enough can’t argue with hard evidence. The post wasn’t relevant to the thread so easily forgot.

Make a note of the post # in your little NCM notebook..in which I said the success of the unders won’t carry through ..and I’ll be sure to post every opinion in advance in future.

Duly filed in Vol XXII, chapter III, subsection IV.

Prepare to be ridiculed in 2022.

How do you know much about their personality Sid? You see what they do in TV interviews and how they conduct themselves on the touchline. That is about it! I agree it is encouraging to see Southgate committed to youth but I think comparisons with a manager who has won the World Cup as both player and manager are probably a bit ambitious. Southgate couldn't even get the 'Boro pumping in fact he relegated them and was sacked soon after.

Yeah I concede that he also did ok. I suppose 3/11 is a fair return for England. He was a gobby little turd against the South Americans though could have easily got himself sent off.

I disagree, had the referee been sending players off for that kind of dissent we would have won the game via forfeit pretty early on.
