    Which is the better achievement?

Have read a rumour in the press that Southgate might be knighted for his 'success' with England. The rumour may prove to be false, as most are, but it got me thinking which is the better achievement - Southgate's or Warney's? Fourth position in your first WC is a good achievement, and better than many were expecting, but getting promotion with a side that dropped ignominiously out of the Chumpship is, in my mind, a more significant achievement.

    Arise Sir Warney?

As they give out knighthoods for farting in tune these days, anything is possible I suppose

Farcical if they give it to a football manager for losing 3 out of 7 matches at a knock-out tournament

The Queen would have to say "Ararse Sir.... "

Both are great achievements. Neither merits a knighthood.

Had we won it, maybe. Coming 4th, no. Depends how the next 10 years pan out to decide on whether a yes on general results is warranted.

As for achievement. What looks best on the CV? Employee of the month at McDonalds or 4 star chef who finished 4th in a world bake off?

No trick questions from me. I'm a straight shooter, albeit prematurely if Mrs CAM is to be believed
