If you read his reply it doesn't actually say he was offered it

We can all assume he was on the shortlist

But I don't think the players would have accepted him

And of course the Spanish fa would have had to discuss compo with ash and I'm sure they realised they didn't have that time
So I don't believe he was offered it

well it was for all intents and purposes a handshake deal at the time, he was most definately verging on signing a contract and as we are led to believe Real came in on the 11th hour and how could he say NO
