Collis King can’t come back to Britain

West Indies star who played as professional for Nelson 1974-6 and has lived here (in summers) since is stuck in Barbados due to a technicality on his spousal visa application when he decided to spend more time here His wife is in Dunnington Yorkshire and he still plays for the local team there in summer returning to Barbados for winters.

Our "hostile environment" policy is alive and kicking. It's shameful it really is.

Once saw him score a mega quick ton, tonking our ballers all over the place. Pretty sure he also skittled a few Super House wickets also. One of the best I ever saw......

We have had the headlines of Windrush & this Government has been put to shame, now it’s been put to bed by the incumbents, but I would bet there are many more like King still being treated wrongly.

He should have signed up for ISIS, gone and lopped off a few heads, then he'd have been welcomed back and given housing benefit no problem. Some people just have no idea how to game the system, you've got to make it work for you.

Sadly, sinkov, this is nearer the truth than we think it is!

I think it’s probably a mistake applying for the visa whilst he was here on a visitors visa and he was told he had to apply from his country of origin. He was given 14 days to leave and has been waiting 4 months in Barbados to hear the outcome of his appeal.

This isn’t a Windrush case. Hopefully just bureaucracy that may now be speeded up.

I didn't mean to stress it was a Windrush scenario, just stating that this Government had been caught out with many nationalities having been affected by incompetent red tape and negligent dealings with oversea visitors.

    No I understood that alto.
Yes things have started to change and in trying to controlling immigration there are a few glitches. It’s worrying it takes so long but high profile cases will hopefully show where change is needed.
