    Big Jim Thomson

got his managerial career off to a flier when his home town team Kilsyth Rangers won Gretna2000's Raydale Cup with a 3 - 0 victory over South of Scotland champions Threave Rovers who were probably missing their top striker Tommy Muir who was busy banging in two goals for his new club Annan Athletic in their 4 - 0 win over Berwick Rangers

Apologies to Tommy he did, of course, play for Lowland League side Dalbeattie Star where he was top scorer for the last two seasons. - Wonder if Queens ever showed any interest in the lad ?

Sometimes it's hard for us fans to realize that Queens are one of the bigger fishes these days and the jump to our level in most cases is very difficult for younger players to come through. Annan or Stranraer are more appropriate and perhaps we can take their better players in the future. Hopefully the new reserve league will offer more opportunities for any up and coming players.
