Getting more like groundhog Day all the time,......"we are linked with, talking to, likely to be, negotiating with".......oops, he's signed elsewhere, not only is it repetative, and worrying, and frustrating, it's getting not only really annoying, but embarrassing as well, it seems no one wants to come here, makes you wonder how orta sells the club, especially when fat boy lampard can out sell derby to Leeds, considering they're supposed to be skint and need to sell before buying yet haven't yet sold vydra.....what the hell is orta and radz playing at, bielsa will kick off soon, because the team we have now is relegation fodder, we will be fighting it from the off unless something dramatic happens quickly, and I can't see that doing.

Years of instability coming home to roost I'm afraid; looking objectively why would he choose us over Derby?

Don't quite understand the "madhouse", comment?

Said in other threads that if Bielsa is content (not necessarily "happy"), then let's see what he can do?

As for "connected with", "offer tabled", etc, it's all meedja sh1te so why would we be embarrassed just because they have got it wrong?

Also said elsewhere that we need to offload, and we have (to my surprise tbh), so reduced wage bill, tighter squad playing for each other and no "big name" needing their ego massaged, not such a bad place.

And as for pre-season, not spectacular so far, but so what? Same could be said about last year and look where we were at Christmas? Maybe we can do that again, and more?

    Let's wait and see, hmmm?

You're right, we can't predict what will happen, but the evidence of history, and the pre-season so far seems to suggest there's a lot of experimentation and creativity going on to deal with shortcomings in quality in the squad. Reports today suggest they are still looking for 4 additions - far from ideal with time passing as it is. The youngsters yesterday gave it a good shot, as did the players on Tuesday, but there wasn't much to show from either game in terms of performances or results, from reports, and watching on Tuesday.

There's no substitute for quality, and we have a game in 16 days against Stoke. When you look at their squad and the level at which most of their probable first team has played (internationals and Premier League) it's concerning.

A poor start with such a threadbare squad could lead us into a really difficult season. Even if we are 'ok', that's hardly what we expected when Bielsa was signed up. The intent shown in that appointment really made me (against my better instincts after all these years of under-investment and shooting ourselves in the foot) believe we may have made a choice to have a go, for once.

It does seem the intent to change was actually to get in a decent manager who could make something out of not much. As you say, time will tell if he can do that in what is probably the hardest division in Europe to coach inexperience and lack of quality to success.

Said it many times in the past, the pre-seasons we have had have been woeful in terms of real preparation, and the line up this time round is much the same, so all we can take from it (so far) is that we have a squad of players able to go 90 minutes without wholesale substitutions, and we didn't let a goal deflect us from playing (and Klich appears to have found some favour with fans, so maybe one of Ortas "dross" (my word), will make good. Not much else to take from the games so far, much as last season and the season before, ad nauseam).

As for "Reports today.........", more horsesh1te from those wanting to fill column inches of space on your screen. Cant be ar3ed with it and have stopped looking/searching. If it happens, it happens, nothing we can do one way or t'other.

The game against Stoke is key, you're right of course. If the team performs to it's best (whatever level that is seen to be), the players fight for every ball, play for each other and the shirt, and the fans see that and respond as they always do when a Leeds team plays like that, they will get the support they will have earned, because the fans will know they gave their all, as they are expected to (and failed to last season), even if we lose.

TBH, I'd prefer a hard season, seeing performances that fit the description above, and finish mid-table, than splash some cash on the likes of Vydra and the like, who wouldn't come to Leeds because they want to be Leeds players, they'd come because they can get rich no matter what performance they put in, and see us whimper along and finish in the same place.

Us against the world, done it before, we can do it again, maybe not to get promotion next season, but come out the end of it with a machine that works and can put the fear of god into opposition in 2019/20.
