I play golf poorly, a huge fan of the game though. The Open, in my mind, is the best of the 4 majors. There’s no ‘tricking up’ the course to make it tough, mother nature determines the severity. The Open typically provides a nail biting finish, this year is no different. As for Tommy Fleetwood, he’s been on the radar for a couple of years., a solid player, won several times on the European Tour, never won on the PGA Tour though. He actually holds the course record at Carnoustie, 62 I think. I never was a Tiger fan but respected his amazing talents, unbeatable when at his best. Rory just made an eagle 3, currently tied with 5 others for top spot. An interesting finish coming up, survival of the fittest, brilliant to watch.

Well that's the last time I listen to Geordies in pubs, who think they know all about golf.

When you live amongst them and are married to one you quickly learn to turn a deaf ear to what they say -----I would have told you this earlier ---but you didn't say that it was a Geordie!

Wasn't really his fault that Jordan blew it supersub, it was his to lose and I could have layed the bet off on Sunday morning for a profit if I'd wanted, but I took a punt and let it ride.

My sister used to live in Tynemouth so I've spent a lot of time up there. I still look forward to every visit to Newcastle, if there are nicer people anywhere in the world, I've yet to meet them.

It is strange how they can play so well and then it just goes pear-shaped sometimes.

Tynemouth is a lovely place and I particularly enjoy going to the station on a Sunday and seeing the activity with the traders etc.
I love it up here but I am biased!
