Is there any concrete evidence that we are actually going for Gallagher?
There are so many conflicting stories, it gets very frustrating.
Champs, I don't thing Armstrong is a "wide man" in the sense of a "winger". He has always looked to me to be someone who would be best suited by Dack's role. I totally agree, though, that he is not a centre-forward. Nor is Samuel, from what I've seen. He didn't look comfortable, holding the ball with back to goal - the thing Graham does so well. I reckon he would thrive best in a 4-4-2, as the support-striker. I don't think that appeals to Mowbray, however, because it means having to play Dack slightly deeper.
I think I have an old-fashioned view on this, as I quite like that line-up still, if it includes one proper winger (Chapman-style), one grafting wide player (more like Conway), one holding player, and one creative midfielder.
As it is, though, I agree that a signing similar in style to Graham is essential. It doesn't look as if Nuttall is going to make it.
