He is probably sunning it in the Carribean, but I hope you are right.

I often wonder about the merits of a high profile pre-season game.

If last week's mismatch of a game is anything to go by, a comprehensive defeat is on the cards against LCFC. Yes I know these games 'mean nothing'and that they are glorified training session which fans can pay to watch but a tonking is a tonking and I can't help but think that it's bad for morale and confidence.

For me the 8-0 ragdolling we suffered at the hand of a Swansea City XI, in the FA Cup last season, had a definite negative effect on our league performances....

Would be great to see Kaspar back. Can’t imagine he’ll be playing though.

I agree but whilst this can have a negative effect on confidence, beating a pub team 17-0 can lead to a false impression of your own abilities. Surely, playing pre season against teams of similar or slightly better ablity, would provide a more realistic challenge and give a better idea of a teams strengths and weaknesses?

What is learned from playing games against teams from absolute, opposite ends of the spectrum?

It has been reported that Kasper won't be playing as the World Cup players have been given a break

Not without creating an account though and the site is VERY slow

Edit: Not working for me at all, timed out, worse than our ticket site.
