YORK CITY V LEEDS UNITED Tonight 7pm

Whos watching on TV or going to the game tonight? Hoping to see a different line up tonight and a chance to see Baker and Blackman

Got late so thought id post this up if anyone wants to use it a match day thread.

Leeds United travel to York City on Thursday (7:00pm), looking to record a second win in pre-season, following Tuesday's victory at Forest Green Rovers. York City were a Football League side in the 2015/16 campaign, however back to back relegations meant they started the 2017/18 season in the National League North. The game will provide Marcelo Bielsa with another opportunity to cast his eye over his squad, ahead of the Sky Bet Championship opener against Stoke City on Sunday 5th August.

    Head coach

    York City: Martin Gray

    Leeds United: Marcelo Bielsa

    2017/18 league position

York City: 11th (National League North)

Leeds United: 13th (Sky Bet Championship)

    2017/18 top scorer

    York City: Jon Parkin (20)

    Leeds United: Kemar Roofe (14)

    2018/19 transfer incomings

York City: Tom Allan (Alfreton Town), Jordan Burrow (Gateshead), Kallum Griffiths (Spennymoor Town), Macaulay Langstaff (Gateshead), Russell Penn (Gateshead), Jake Wright (Harrogate Town), Wesley York (Gateshead).

Leeds United: Lewis Baker (Chelsea), Jamal Blackman (Chelsea)

    Team news

Marcelo Bielsa is expected to field a different side, to the team which played 90 minutes against Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday. Midfielder Lewis Baker could make his debut, whilst former York striker Ryan Edmondson may line up against his former side. Ronaldo Vieira, Laurens De Bock and Tom Pearce are all expected to be included.

    The key battle

Jon Parkin v Laurens De Bock

36-year-old striker Parkin has proved to be a constant threat against Leeds United throughout his career. Now lining up for York, Parkin hit 20 goals for York last season during an impressive campaign. The Leeds United defence will be looking to keep him quiet at Bootham Crescent.

    LUTV

Thurday's fixture with York City will be shown live on LUTV, with build up from 6:50pm. The York game is available for £3.99 or you can purchase a five game pre-season pass for £14.99.

Some fresh faces on show tonight then.
Will they have a point to prove over the familiar ones that were out vs FGR.

with you in spirit tonight Jimmy but my band's practising - watched a short bit of the game - not enough to form any views on the players, but it's great to see the young lads having a run out, and our Japanese international playing alongside them....

Klich, Baker and Vieira played well. Ideguchi had his moments. Some of the young boys had reasonable games though showed a lack of intelligent movement in forward areas, often berated by Baker. Who with better players to service around him looks a good signing.

York have had a mixed bag of results in their friendlies, we won there at Bootham Crescent 1-7 a few weeks ago but Bradford then went and lost there. Did it finish 0-1 to Leeds then tonight ?.
