    First footballing hero

    Who was the first footballer doesn't have to be a toonplayer who you thought Fkin hell he is brilliant .First memory for me was Keegan .

    Mine was the late great Jackie Milburn.

    Saw him in my first match which my uncle took me to. A friendly against the Smoggies before football restarted full time just after the war. I'm told there was between 35 and 40,000 there but to a little lad it looked like the entire population of Newcastle.


    We won by the way 3-1 and we were in the old second div then and Boro in the top flight.

    Micky Burns was the hero when I was a kid....helped that his song included a swear word.

    Keegan for me... then his spell as a manager blew me away.

    He still remains my a time footballing hero...

    Keegan for me.After that Beardsley.Felt a bit lucky when Keegan came back as boss as there was many more to choose from.Thats how good that time was.

    Milburn was my first hero then when he retired it was Len White who replaced him then Supermac.
