I’ve never understood why “travellers” are so keen to find a permanent stop and as to why they s h I t outside their own homes?

They’re a blight on society. Councils should be able to impound all their vehicles and sell them to recover the cost of dealing with this pestilence. The police should park outside these encampments and prosecute anyone using an untaxed or uninsured vehicle. It won’t happen, of course, because the law is on the side of the pikeys; the government could recover some popularity by legislating against them.
